What does Fence & Gate Doc. Services do?

We provide independent, third-party fence and gate condition reports. We specialize solely in documentation and do not perform repairs, installations, or property boundary line determinations.

How does the condition report work?

• Book & Deposit: Reserve your appointment with an upfront service fee ($150 for residential, $250 for commercial).

• On-Site Documentation: We visit the property to record visual conditions, measure fence footage, and count gates.

• Report Delivery: Once the final balance is paid, your report is dispatched—typically the same business day, and guaranteed within 24 hours.

What’s included in the condition report?

Reports feature high-resolution photos and tailored checklists for specific fence styles. We evaluate general structural factors such as post alignment, plumbness, and fence height, alongside gate hinges, latches, sagging, and overall operation.

Do you offer commercial reports?

Yes. We document residential, commercial, industrial, and HOA properties with customized reporting for each.

Do you repair fences or gates?

No, we only document condition; we do not install or repair fences or gates.

What kinds of fences do you document reports for?

Wood, chain link, vinyl, wrought iron, aluminum, ranch rail, farm wire, pool safety, shadowbox, and barbed wire fences.

How does pricing work?

🏡Residential-
- Up to 25 ft: $150 flat rate (Can include one gate)
- Over 25 ft: $150 base service fee + $0.50 per linear foot after 25 ft

🏦Commercial/Industrial
- Up to 50 ft: $250 flat rate (Can include two gates)
- Over 50 ft: $250 base service fee + $0.40 per linear foot after 50 ft
- Dye Penetrant Testing = $100/gate (Must be prepped prior to arrival)

IMPORTANT: Final pricing is confirmed on-site based on actual measured footage and gate counts.

If Fence & Gate Documentation Services cannot complete the scheduled report, customer payments related to incomplete documentation services will be refunded.

Can I cancel my appointment?

• 24+ Hours Notice: Cancel anytime without penalty.

• Within 24 Hours of Appointment:

  • Residential Fee: $75

  • Commercial / HOA Fee: $150

    (Cancellation fees cover reserved scheduling, route planning, and administrative setup.)

How long does a report take?

Smaller condition reports usually take about 30 minutes to 1 hour while larger reports could take up to 2 hours or more. Weather can be a critical factor in time as well so times may vary slightly. Estimated times are only relevant to field work.

When will I receive my report?

Reports are dispatched once final payment is made and usually same business day. If not received within 24hrs, please contact through email for further assistance.

Do you document gates too?

Each gate is charged separately to document all of the following: Hinges, latches, sagging, alignment, and gate operation. If documented, the condition reports will be under a category labeled "Gates".

Can condition reports help with contractor disputes?

Independent documentation may help show visible conditions and workmanship concerns.

Do you work with insurance claims?

Reports may help support insurance documentation and property records.

What if my fence looks fine?

Some customers simply want records for storms, property sales, or future monitoring.

Are documentation services destructive?

Documentation services are visual and non-destructive only.

Do you provide engineering certifications?

No. Our service is strictly visual and non-destructive documentation. Reports do not constitute engineering certifications, structural guarantees, or repair estimates.

Why hire an independent fence documentation company?

What is "Dye Penetrant Testing" (DPT)?

Liquid Penetrant Testing (DPT) is a non-destructive testing method using a specialized fluid to reveal fine surface cracks in metal components that might be invisible to the naked eye.

• Residential Rate: $50 per gate (gates must be prepped prior to arrival)

• Commercial Rate: $100 per gate (gates must be prepped prior to arrival)

How are gates counted?

For pricing and documentation purposes, a gate is defined as any independently hinged panel designed to swing open and close:

• Single Walk Gate: 1 hinged panel = 1 gate

• Double-Drive Gate: 2 independently hinged panels = 2 gates

• Multi-Leaf Gates: Counted by the total number of individual hinged sections.
